New Invent Theatre production

Invent Theatre is staging ‘The Asphodel Fields’ on 31 May at Shanklin Theatre. The production is supported by Young Chamber, AJ Wells & Sons Ltd, Ventnor Town Council and VentnorBlog.

Invent Theatre launched in January with weekly workshops at Ventnor Middle School and rehearsals for a new play written by Jack Whitehead.

The theatre aims to be a place for young people to meet and produce new plays, but to also to teach and provide opportunities for others. Working within the Extended Schools Program for the Ventnor area, it now provides workshops for those aged ten to nineteen, and is run by young people.

‘The Asphodel Fields’ is the group’s second production and has been written by Jack Whitewood. Tickets are available from the Shanklin Theatre box office.
