Want to get back on your bike? Interested in trying a new Red Squirrel Electric Bike? Come along to one of our free Bikes In Business drop-in sessions where you can give your bike a free health check and try going electric!

The Chamber of Commerce is hosting Bikes In Business events in Newport, Ryde and Cowes, starting this Wednesday on National Cycle To Work Day. Nick Blake of Island Bikeworks can give your bike a health check, especially for those of you who have a bike languishing in the garage and are considering taking up cycling again but want the security of knowing if your bike is road-safe. The Red Squirrel Electric Bike team will also be attending each of our drop-in sessions, giving you the chance to see what a benefit a bit of battery power adds!

There’s no need to book – just drop in, between 10am and 2pm.

Tracy Underwood, the Chamber’s LSTF Officer says
“We really want people to stop and think – ‘could I swap some of my car journeys for a bike ride?’.  Even if you just make changes to your commute part of the week, in the lighter warmer months, you’re going to improve your health, reduce some costs and feel the warm glow of making the air we all have to breathe a little cleaner!  So please do bring your bike along for a free check or try out an electric bike for free, what have you got to lose?”

Aaron Orman of Red Squirrel Electric Bikes says “Red Squirrel Bikes are fitted with a small battery-powered electric motor, which gives you a subtle power boost as you ride along. The extra boost makes headwinds feel like a gentle breeze and hills like tiny bumps. It also allows you to cover ground much faster than you might be able to on conventional bicycle, all whilst having to work less hard.

This makes Red Squirrel E Bikes the perfect way to get to and from work and meetings near to your workplace. You’ll arrive buzzing with excitement and, thanks to the electric assist, as fresh as you would do having driven your car just without the hassle of traffic and parking.”
