Apprenticeships are definitely the way forward at NFU Mutual in Newport. Rebecca Burt has officially joined the full-time team after starting work as an apprentice in May last year. Senior agent John Heather is now looking to recruit a second apprentice for the office.

“Rebecca joined us an Apprentice Customer Support Adviser, as well as studying a BTec Level 3 in Business Administration,” John says. “Rebecca would spend one day per week at the Isle of Wight College, as well as having a range of course work to complete with the support of her tutor. In addition to this she had to complete the CII accredited training provided by NFU Mutual in order to advise customers on our products and services.

“The Apprenticeship was scheduled to take 18 months, but I am delighted to say the Rebecca was signed off by the College at the beginning of April 2017, and has accepted a full time position within my business. It is testament to her hard work that she has completed her course and training in such a quick time, and it was a simple decision to offer her a full time position; so much so that I will be looking to undertake the process again in July.”
