Isle of Wight Chamber members are invited to learn more about support and potential grant funding opportunities at an event this Thursday. The expert speakers are Lukasz Liebersbach from Enterprise Europe Network and Bruce McLelland from Knowledge Transfer Network. The event should appeal to all businesses who are interested in international markets or have an innovative approach. Lukasz will be covering the Marine sector in particular.

The free event is being held at the Riverside Centre in Newport from 8.30am – 9.30am. The event will be hosted by EV Express, a new Island-based electric vehicle charging business.

“Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) helps SMEs innovate and do business in Europe and beyond,” explains Lukasz Liebersbach. “Brokering successful partnerships is one of our key services. If you want to commercialise ideas and succeed in new markets. EEN can introduce you to the right people to make it happen. EEN advisers can connect you to commercial, technological and research partners and with manufacturers, distributors, co-developers and suppliers overseas.”

EEN also works closely with another key organisation, Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN). Bruce McLelland explains that KTN “is set up to help business break down the barriers in the way of their innovation strategy and accelerate the process for them to capitalise or expand from that innovation agenda. All tech sectors are within scope and we are keen to ensure the right connections are made (business to business, R&D centre to business and visa versa). KTN often support micro SME’s looking to push a new tech solution forward to full market deployment. “

Lukasz and Bruce will detail practical support that is available to support Island businesses and potential grant funding opportunities.
