Terms and Conditions

Membership is subject to agreement with the following terms and conditions:
- An application for approval must be made on the membership application form, which should be signed by an authorised person on behalf of the company.
- It is a requirement of membership that businesses adopt the members “Code of Conduct and Good Practice”. In order to allow us to gauge your adherence with the code, membership will initially be granted on a probationary basis for one year.
- Following your acceptance into Chamber membership you will receive information from us on the use of the logo and certificate of membership.
- Approved businesses should notify us of any changes to relevant circumstances, which may affect their membership status. These may include changes in senior staff, changes of ownership, new products or services, convictions and County Court judgements.
- Documentation and logos relating to membership may be used by your business in the following way:
- On business premises and vehicles;
- On business documentation;
- On products and in advertising.
- Advertising and marketing on behalf of any specific branch or branches in membership shall not be used in a way which implies approval of your whole organisation.
- An annual renewal invoice will be sent to you several weeks prior to your renewal date. Membership will automatically be terminated 30 days after your renewal date if payment has not been received.
- Members to notify the Chamber in writing 1 month before the renewal date if they wish to cease to be a member for whatever reason. Members are liable for an admin charge of £35.00 if this is not undertaken.
- Refunds will not be offered in full or in part for Chamber membership unless it is within 14 days of the date of your purchase. Should you opt to pay by direct debit and choose to cancel your DD payments before the year is up, you will be charged an admin fee of £35.
- We reserve the right to withdraw approval of your business from within membership and permission to display material relating to the Chamber if there is adequate evidence that you are not abiding by the principles or commitments of our code of conduct and good practice.
- Should membership be refused or withdrawn, you will have the right to appeal in writing to the Chairman of the Chamber’s Membership Review Committee. If you are not satisfied with the response you can have right of appeal to the Board of the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce who’s decision shall be final.
- In the event of the Chamber being wound up during your membership, or within one year of you ceasing to be a member, to contribute a sum (not exceeding £1) towards costs, charges and expenses involved in connection with such winding up.
- All certificates and documentation on indicating membership of the Chamber shall remain the property of the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce and shall be returned to us in the event of Membership being withdrawn. In such circumstances all logos must be removed from stationery, vehicles, advertisements etc and customers responding to advertisements on the basis of the logo e.g. via Yellow Pages, websites, social media; must be informed of the withdrawal of membership.
- Improper use of logos, certificates etc., may constitute a criminal offence.
- By visiting www.iwchamber.co.uk you acknowledge that all copyright, trademarks and database rights in the content of this site remain vested in Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce or our licensors.
Attempts to harvest our database are strictly forbidden and may lead to your access to the members’ section of the site being temporarily or permanently denied. Database theft is a criminal and civil offence. We actively monitor access to our database and will take action to defend our intellectual property rights in respect thereof. - Members will protect the integrity of the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce and its Group activities at all times.
- Any breach of these Terms and Conditions will be referred to the Membership Review Committee who may suspend or refuse any application for membership.
- By renewing your membership with the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce you are agreeing to the Terms and Conditions of Membership.
