Island residents, businesses and visitors are being asked to share their views on the draft plan which sets out our vision and priorities for our transport and travel network and how Island residents, business and visitors can enjoy sustainable, affordable, accessible and safe travel for the next 15 years.

The Island Transport Plan is a statutory requirement for the Isle of Wight Council as the Local Transport Authority. The plan will direct transport policy, development and delivery on the Isle of Wight from 2025 to 2040 and will guide future investment and decision making by the Isle of Wight Council regarding transport during this period.

The consultation takes place over a 12-week period between 1 September and midnight on 24 November 2025 and you can get involved in a number of ways:

Online

Information about the consultation can be found on the council’s website www.iow.gov.uk/LTP4

This includes the current draft Island Transport Plan as well as a link to the survey, a series of useful animations explain different aspects of the plan and information about drop in events and online meetings that you can attend.

In person

As part of the consultation, we will also be holding a series of drop-in events in the following locations:

  • Monday 6 October, 3.30-6.30pm, Aspire, Ryde
  • Thursday 9 October, 3.30-6.30pm, Cowes Community Club, Cowes
  • Tuesday 4 November, 11am-2pm, Salisbury Gardens, Ventnor.
  • Thursday 6 November, 11.30am-2.30pm, Sandown Methodist Church.

This will provide you with an opportunity to look at the information and to ask any questions you might have. You do not have to make an appointment for the drop in events; just simply turn up at any point during the advertised times and council officers involved in the process will be delighted to talk to you, help answer any questions and listen to your feedback.

You can also join an online meeting to find out more. There will be a presentation at the start of the meeting followed by a Q&A session with those on the call.

To join the meeting, simply click on the link on our webpage www.iow.gov.uk/LTP4  on the specific date and time. Or, if you prefer, you can right click on the link using your computer mouse to copy the link and add a diary entry into your own online calendar pasting in the link.
