Wight Karting has brought go-karting back to Westridge, creating 15 jobs and with an investment of over £450,000 in the new business. The team has been helped by a £25,000 loan from the Isle Of Wight Lottery.

Director Cathy Foulkes said: “We worked with the Isle Of Wight Lottery on our business plan so we have a lot of thanks for the Chamber. It gave us extra confidence to know that they believed in us. When we bought the building it had no mains electricity supply and we were able to pay £20,000 knowing that the IW Lottery was supporting us.”

The IW Lottery loan opened the door to £50,000 from the Chamber backed Solent LEP’s Bridging The Gap fund. Work began on the circuit in September last year and their 20 new Karts have all been fitted with low emission “super silent” exhaust systems.
