The Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce its first ever female president, Alison Colley, founder of Real Employment Law Advice. In a moment that reflects how far the organisation has come in building a more inclusive, representative business community.

Alison joined the Chamber back in 2013 as a new business owner, eager but uncertain about the road ahead. “The welcome I received and the support from fellow members made all the difference,” she reflects. “My business simply wouldn’t have been as successful without the encouragement and collaboration of other Chamber members.”

Over the past decade, Alison has seen the Chamber evolve into a more open, transparent, and diverse organisation – one that mirrors the wide range of businesses it represents. She’s passionate about ensuring every member, from solo start-ups to multimillion-pound companies, feels included and valued.

As President, Alison’s focus is on continuing to strengthen that sense of community and connection. Her message to members is simple: get involved. Attend events, engage with peers, share ideas, and support one another. “Even if you’re not looking for customers, the knowledge, advice, and sanity checks you’ll gain from other business owners are invaluable,” she says.

With a refreshed board of directors, a new CEO, and renewed energy, Alison is excited about the future; “Together, we can build a Chamber, and an Island economy, that’s stronger, more inclusive, and ready for the future.”
