More than 150 Island young people aged between 16 and 24 met with Island employers and training providers at an innovative careers event. Inspiring Tomorrow’s Workforce, held at Northwood’s County Showground, saw students and jobseekers networking with Island businesses and watching presentations from companies like IFPL, Vikoma, the NHS and Red Funnel. The final speech came from Island athlete Louis Attrill who inspired students with the story of how his team took gold for rowing at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. The event was hosted by the Chamber’s Tom Stroud and included a careers fair attended by Island businesses and training providers including Jobcentre Plus, Isle of Wight College, HTP Training, Care Learning Centre, SMART Training & Recruitment and UKSA.
