Education Destination is reaching out to more Island businesses, looking to work with them as part of their ‘Island classroom’. Education Destination brings students to the Isle of Wight for educational trips, focused on curriculum elements, using Island landmarks and venues to deliver learning and accommodation.

“We’re continuing to grow year on year,” says Education Destination’s Jon Carter. “We now have over 700 curriculum resources, making the Isle of Wight the foremost destination for educational trips in the world. Importantly for the Isle of Wight more than three quarters of Education Destination’s new school customers have either never been or not visited in the last five years, so this is overwhelmingly new business, including a recent booking from Sweden.

“With school trips having the potential to reach 6-digit sums and virtually all that spend going to local businesses this is an important new revenue stream for the Island. Importantly this falls outside the traditional peak summer, taking place during school term time. Based on this success we would be keen to hear from hoteliers with quality accommodation particularly those with availability during the May/June period. We would also welcome contact from any venue or destination to become part of the all-inclusive Island Classroom.”
