Desk Digital, a search engine optimisation agency on the Isle of Wight, has announced two new events for digital marketers, creatives and business owners.

Their first-ever networking mixer at Blacksheep in Ryde is being held on 25 January from 7pm to 9pm. The event is open to everyone who shares an interest in all things digital. Delegates are invited to take part in networking, a team activity and listen to an informal speak-and-meet with a digital marketing specialist.

Dayna O’brien, a social media specialist at Unicorn will talk about social media best practice, content marketing ideas and her new business venture at the Lavender Farm. The speak and meet will give delegates the opportunity to ask questions about social media and other aspects of digital marketing.

The event will culminate in a team activity where delegates will test their copywriting, search engine optimisation and marketing skills to design a fictional web page for an event. Learn on the go from other marketers as you try to out match the team with your digital know-how. There will also be an opportunity to mingle with other marketing professionals and business owners on the night.

The event is free to attend and open to everyone. Refreshments will be available to purchase on the night from the bar.

March sees the return of The Skill Exchange at No.64 in Ryde with two new workshops, networking and information on new marketing trends aimed at business owners. Learn about the latest Google algorithm changes, compliance and marketing resources on 29 March from 6.30pm.

At the last event, three speakers gave an insight into three areas of digital marketing which included search engine optimisation and reducing bounce rate, Facebook Live and branding and when to do it. The event was attended by local marketers, creatives and business owners who all shared their knowledge and ideas with networking at the end.

Callum Murphy, project manager at Desk Digital said: “There seems to be a real appetite for digital marketing events on the Island. Being able to meet and learn together is an important step towards collaboration – something which I’m passionate about.” He continued: “Both events are designed to enhance people’s understanding of digital marketing and foster an environment where people can work together.”

The full event schedule will be released very soon. For more information on the event and to register for free, visit www.desk-digital.co.uk/the-skill-exchange.
