The Official 2017 Isle of Wight destination guide will be bigger and better, reaching new audiences with a wider distribution. The guide will be published by the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce and supported by Visit Isle of Wight, the Island’s destination management organisation. The new look publication will reflect Visit Isle of Wight’s “Pure Island Happiness” branding for 2017 and has been restyled to connect with a higher demographic audience as well as traditional holidaymakers.

It’s a brand new fashionable look for one of the UK’s biggest holiday destination guides. 100,000 copies will be printed and distributed as part of the most extensive marketing plan ever. The publication will also be promoted in lifestyle adverts and on top ranking websites including Visit England, Visit Isle of Wight and Tourism South East.

The publication is the only printed guide promoting the Isle of Wight and marketed nationwide. It will still be sent to tens of thousands of people who request it by phone, email or through brochure request services. It will continue to be distributed via tourist information centres and other high footfall locations including key network rail sites and outlets like Asda, McDonalds and Tesco. The guide will also still be given out at leading travel exhibitions in London and Birmingham.

It’s backed by the ferry operators too. Hovertravel, Red Funnel and Wightlink continue to support the work of the IW Chamber of Commerce through the distribution of its tactical tourism publications for the benefit of the tourism industry on the Isle of Wight.

Kevin Smith, the Chamber’s Chief Executive commented:
“The Chamber has been involved in the production of the Island’s destination guide since at least 1937. In 2017 the publication is still vital, relevant and supported by the tourism industry. We’re excited to be working closely with Visit Isle of Wight to make the guide even better and to reach new audiences. A stronger tourism sector means a stronger Isle of Wight economy, and that’s a win for everyone.”

David Thornton, CEO of Visit Isle of Wight added:
“This is a great step forward for us all, a destination guide that we can be justly proud of. We’re pleased to have worked with the Chamber on the new lifestyle sections that draw out the inspiring aspects of visiting the Island. The new-look “lifestyle” makeover will be used to target a new higher younger demographic in London and the home counties, generating brand new visitors with money in their pockets. This new approach to selling the destination will continue to satisfy traditional audiences but also engage with younger style-conscious prospects. By carrying the destination brand we’re able to place the guide at the very centre of our lifestyle marketing and press work over the coming year.”

Early Bird Discounts are available for Isle of Wight Chamber members, if bookings are made by 5th November 2016. Payment plans are available.
