The Island Tea & Coffee Company is now SALSA accredited. The lengthy process means that their freshly roasted coffee beans have received Safe and Local Supplier Approval, an accreditation that has been designed specifically with small and micro producers in mind. SALSA benefits an organisation that is looking to supply national buyers on a local or regional level. It’s a recognised food certification which demonstrates they are producing products in safe and legal manner.

“Island Tea & Coffee Company enjoyed great growth in 2019 and this is a great way to kick off 2020, keeping pushing forward as a business and for the Island,” says managing director Jon Carter. “We trebled our supply to Morrisons stores across Hampshire through the year with our Freshly Roasted Coffee Beans and in December with our specialist Christmas Coffee. We also saw similar growth across the IOW and Hampshire with local Café’s, Restaurants, Hotels and Offices.

“This accreditation now opens the doors for other supermarkets for us to supply our Freshly Roasted coffee, not just across Hampshire but also across the UK. It also demonstrates to our local customers on the IOW and across Hampshire that they are purchasing (not just the freshest) but the best when it comes to roasted coffee. Our Master Roaster Mike and Sales Specialist Wayne oversee every roast to ensure each bean is roasted to perfection and work with each business to offer a bespoke service.”
