Guests at the Seaview Hotel are being given the opportunity to explore the Island by electric bike. The Electric Sightseeing package offers a car-free way to travel the Island and is supported by the Isle of Wight Council. The Seaview Hotel was one of three businesses to secure funding for a project to develop sustainable tourism. The hotel has invested in a fleet of six electric bikes for the year, supplied by Powerbike World in Lake, with a choice of picturesque routes developed by Cycle Wight. Electric bike hire is available at £25 per day to non-residents and the hotel can supply picnics.

“We are seeking to develop new markets motivated by the wellness trend and to position the Isle of Wight as a ‘green’ holiday destination,” says hotel general manager Philip Wilson. “We have already installed electric vehicle charging points and this is another way we can help to reduce carbon emissions. It’s also important for us to support other local businesses which is why we have teamed up with Simon Wells at Powerbike World. There’s also great potential for team building and we welcome any corporate enquiries.”
