Olu Irele-Domingo, founder of Shoes An’ Stuff, is celebrating a £5,000 loan from the Isle Of Wight Lottery. He’s opening a new retail shop at 62 Ryde High Street and he’s also selling fashion footwear online.

“I want to do something different,” says Olu. “My mission is to bring affordable, quirky and fun fashion items to my customers. Most people that see my SupaSoles shoes buy a pair on the spot! My aim is to get every lady on the Island to buy a pair.”

Olu specialises in slip-on pumps that come in a matching bag, designed to be slipped into a handbag on a night out. When ladies need a rest from their high heels they can place them in the bag to carry them home. Olu has been market testing the product since December.

“I’ve been trying to set up a business for the last couple of years. The Chamber Of Commerce has always been there for me. The Isle Of Wight Lottery isn’t just about giving away prizes each month and without this funding I wouldn’t have been confident enough to take on retail premises. I’m making bigger plans now. I’m very grateful.”

Olu is attending events across the Island and he’s also looking at selling as a street vendor.
